Costco’s October Tech Drop Bundles a $259 Lock Kit
Costco’s October electronics list pairs an Aqara UWB lock kit and Wyze window cameras with phone-free outdoor audio, and the deep cuts are not on the lock.
Costco is stocking five new electronics items in October 2026, with prices from $79.99 to $259.99. The mix is a floating speaker, swim-rated headphones, a phone gimbal, indoor window cameras, and an Apple ultra-wideband lock kit.
A Gold Star card is still $65 a year. Three of the five SKUs are online only, so a warehouse walk will not show the whole list.
Costco’s October Electronics List Starts at $79.99
The new set is small and oddly paired: outdoor audio that does not need a phone, a stabilizer for phone video, and two products that watch the house. Costco’s own pages flag the gimbal, the camera pack, and the lock kit as online only. The speaker and the Shokz band are listed as standard member items.
OCTOBER 2026 COSTCO TECH
| Product | Costco price | Item | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Speaqua Barnacle X | $79.99 | 2087613 | Speaqua lists $149.99 |
| Shokz OpenTri (S710) | $159.99 | 2087026 | Shokz lists OpenSwim Pro at $229.95 |
| Hohem iSteady M7 | $199.99 | 2091049 | Online only |
| Wyze Window Cam 3-pack | $79.99 | 1935343 | Online only, 1080p |
| Aqara Smart Lock U400 kit | $259.99 | 2059020 | Online only, hub plus two batteries |
Those item numbers matter because Costco rotates seasonal electronics without much warning. If a warehouse pallet is gone, the.com listing is the record of what the club still has.
The Warehouse Cut Is Real on Three of Five
Speaqua still lists the Barnacle X at $149.99 in Manta Ray Black and Tidal Blue. Costco’s $79.99 tag is a clean $70 cut on the same BX1002 chassis, with 8GB of storage, IP68 sealing, and a claimed 12 hours on a charge. The speaker weighs 2 lb and measures 5.5 x 5.4 x 6.2 inches. It floats, takes a suction cup, a carabiner, a 1/4-20 thread, and a GoPro adapter, and Speaqua says Party Pairing can link 150-plus units with no app.
That is the kind of SKU Costco can move in fall because members will try a splash-proof brick if the return desk is close. The headphones follow the same pattern. Costco’s OpenTri uses Shokz model S710, the same model number as OpenSwim Pro, which Shokz still lists at $229.95. Costco’s price is $159.99, which is $69.96 under that list, not a rounded $70.
The S710 is the swim-rated band, not a casual open-ear commute bud. Costco rates battery life at 9 hours in Bluetooth and lists a 33 ft range. Shokz’s own S710 sheet adds 6 hours in MP3 mode, a 10-minute charge that returns 3 hours, IP68 use down to 6.5 feet for 2 hours, and 32GB of onboard storage. Two devices can stay paired at once.
Bone-conduction audio is a poor match for people who want sealed bass, and a good match for a runner who needs traffic. Sport users who live in these bands also treat them as consumables. Sweat kills the electronics in about a year on hard-use pairs, which is why a warehouse return window is part of the product. The magnetic charge cable, still not USB-C on the buds, is the other recurring gripe.
Wyze Window Cameras Skip the Outdoor Drill
The Wyze three-pack is the other $79.99 line, and it is the one that changes a house without a ladder. Each camera is a 2.05-inch cube that sticks to the inside of a window and looks out. Costco’s listing, item 1935343, is online only and records in 1080p from a 1/2.9-inch CMOS sensor at 1920 x 1080. The diagonal view is 120 degrees. Digital zoom goes to 8x.
Wyze built this camera around glass. The company removed the IR lights and spotlight that bounce off a pane at night, then widened the mount sticker so indoor lamps have less of a mirror to work with. Color after dark comes from an F1.0 aperture and a BSI sensor that uses streetlights and moonlight. The sticker is single-use. Each camera ships with a spare. Wyze says not to put one behind a screen, and to keep the sticker horizontal and untrimmed.
Unlike our other Wyze Cams, we removed the IR lights and the spotlight entirely to reduce glare and reflections that cause poor image quality at night.
Wyze, Window Cam product FAQ
The cameras are indoor only, with an operating range of -14°F to 113°F. They talk over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, set up on Bluetooth, and work with Alexa, Google Assistant, and IFTTT. Two-way audio uses a 100 dB speaker. Local 24/7 recording needs a microSD card up to 512 GB, sold separately. Richer person, pet, package, and vehicle labels sit behind Wyze’s optional Cam Plus plan. The hardware still motion-alerts without it.
WHAT THE THREE-PACK SHIPS
- Cameras: Three Window Cams in white textured matte, 2.75 oz each.
- Mounts: Six stickers, two per camera, hook-and-loop, no drill.
- Power: Three 10 ft USB cables, three indoor adapters, plus clips.
- Limits: Indoor glass only; not for screened windows; microSD not included.
That box is how Costco sells security to people who will not fish a cable through siding. The cameras stay out of the weather and, from the street, mostly out of sight.
What the Aqara U400 Kit Includes at Costco
Costco’s Aqara listing is not the lock you see on Aqara’s site. The club’s kit, item 2059020, is $259.99 online only and puts the U400 in a box with a Hub M100 and two rechargeable batteries, two keys, a bolt kit, and a mounting plate. Aqara’s U.S. store prices the lock alone at $269.99. The warehouse tag is $10 under that lock-only list, and the extra battery plus hub are the actual add.
The U400 is one of the first deadbolts to use Apple Home Key over ultra-wideband, so an iPhone or Apple Watch can open the door on approach with no tap. Aqara says UWB measures time of flight and angle of arrival, then unlocks only on a steady, intentional path from outside. Passing by, or using a phone in the living room, is supposed to do nothing. Hands-free UWB needs iOS 18.5 or later on iPhone 11 and newer, with iPhone SE and iPhone 16e excluded, or watchOS 11.5 or later on Apple Watch Series 6 and newer, with Apple Watch SE excluded. A Thread-enabled Apple home hub is still required, such as a HomePod mini, HomePod (2nd generation), or Apple TV 4K.
That last requirement is why the M100 in the Costco box is not a trinket for every buyer. An Apple household that already has a Thread hub can run Home Key without Aqara’s stick. The hub still earns its slot if you want Aqara’s app features, Zigbee devices, or a Matter border router that is not an Apple box. The lock itself has no Wi-Fi radio. It speaks Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, UWB, and Matter over Thread. It is a different path from Ring’s first smart lock, which skips home Wi-Fi by leaning on sidewalk-side power rather than Thread and ultra-wideband.
HOW THE U400 OPENS
- UWB approach: Hands-free Home Key when a supported iPhone or Watch walks up from outside.
- Tap Home Key: Apple Wallet tap, including on some powered-off devices, plus fingerprint, keypad, NFC, app, voice, and two physical keys.
- Fingerprints: Up to 50 prints, Aqara claims a 0.3-second read and 98.6% recognition.
- Power: A removable pack rated up to 6 months, a 20% voice alert, USB-C charging, and an exterior USB-C emergency port.
The outer panel is IP65. Hardware is BHMA-certified. A gyro can auto-lock when the door closes. Night Latch limits keyless entry to an admin after hours. NFC cards are sold separately. Installation is a single-cylinder deadbolt swap, and Aqara says some doors need extra fitting. For a Costco member who already lives in Apple Home, the kit is a way to try that stack with a spare battery in the drawer. It is not a $10 miracle against Aqara’s own site price.
Why Costco Is Selling Swim Headphones in October
Pool season is over in most of the country, and Costco still put an IP68 speaker and an IP68 swim band on the same October list. The honest use is not a pool party. It is a phone-free walk, a gym that hates earbuds that fall out, a kayak that gets sprayed, or a lap swim that continues indoors all winter. Both products store music on the device, which is the feature that survives a dead phone and a Faraday-cage locker.
The Barnacle X holds about 2,000 songs on 8GB. The OpenTri’s 32GB is in a different league, and Shokz rates the S710’s MP3 mode for pool use when Bluetooth is the wrong radio. Costco’s copy also sells the open ear as a safety tool: you hear the playlist and the street. That is the product. Fidelity is secondary, and anyone expecting over-ear isolation will send the band back.
Fall holidays give the club a second reason to keep a waterproof speaker on a pallet. A suction cup on a kitchen window, a hook on a backpack, and RGB party modes are easier to demonstrate than a Thread lock. The speaker is the bait SKU. The cameras and the lock are the ones that stay on the house after the lights get old.
Hohem’s Gimbal Lands as an Online-Only SKU
The Hohem iSteady M7 is $199.99, item 2091049, model HPG-M7, and Costco marks it online only with a one-year warranty. It is the odd item in a security-and-audio drop, a 3-axis phone stabilizer with a detachable 1.4-inch color touchscreen remote, a magnetic AI tracker, a built-in extension pole, and iSteady 9.0 stabilization. Costco lists the folded size at 2.99 x 14.53 x 8.11 inches. Pan is infinite 360 degrees. Gesture commands are on the feature list, and the tracker camera is for subject lock, not for recording its own files.
You can hold it or stand it as a short tripod. That is the whole pitch: smoother phone video for people who will not buy a camera. It does not need a hub, a Thread border router, or a membership-tier ecosystem. It also does not complete the house-watch kit. If the cart is already carrying the Wyze pack and the U400, the gimbal is the optional extra, not the reason to go online.
Members Still Get 90 Days on Cameras
Costco still sells the membership as a Costco’s member return policy wrapped around bulk paper goods, and that promise is narrower on cameras than shoppers assume. Most merchandise can come back with no published time limit. Electronics in the camera class, along with TVs, computers, tablets, phones, and major appliances, sit on a 90 days clock from the day the member receives them. The Wyze pack is the SKU that most clearly falls in that bucket. Speakers, headphones, gimbals, and locks should be checked on the product page and at the membership desk, because the written exceptions are the cameras and the big-ticket computers, not every gadget on a pallet.
COSTCO’S FINE PRINT
- Gold Star: $65 a year, with an Executive tier at $130.
- Warehouses: Costco.com orders can be returned at more than 800 warehouses.
- Cameras: 90 days from receipt, not from the day you finally stick them on glass.
- Online-only trio: The M7, the Wyze pack, and the U400 kit are listed as Costco.com items.
The lock kit is item 2059020 and the camera three-pack is item 1935343, both online only. If either is missing in a local warehouse, Costco.com is the listing that still has them.
