XRP Launches Official X Account That Ripple Still Co-Runs
XRP’s official X account, co-run by Ripple and the XRPL Foundation, arrived on October 19 to unbundle the token, then pointed straight at Wall Street and Swell.
XRP opened an official X account on October 19, 2026, jointly run by Ripple and the XRP Ledger Foundation, 14 years after the token was created. The first post was a 10-second logo video and two lines: “hello, world. It’s about time.”
The bio puts the split in writing and then ties it back together. XRP is the native token of a payments ledger, the account is managed by Ripple and the Foundation, and none of it is investment advice.
Hello World, 14 Years Late
The @XRP handle was created on October 15 and stayed dark for four days. When it posted, it did not announce a protocol change, a token sale, or a new product. It said hello.
Ripple quoted the clip within minutes. “For over a decade, we’ve built on the XRP Ledger alongside thousands of others,” the company wrote, then welcomed the account. The XRP Ledger Foundation answered with “New era” and a terminal animation. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, whose own account has long been the loudest official voice around the token, treated the launch as unfinished business.
This one has been a long time coming… Welcome @XRP!

Ripple president Monica Long wrote that the best part had been watching people build on something before it was obvious. David Schwartz, Ripple’s CTO emeritus and one of the ledger’s original architects, was among the names who greeted the handle. Nasdaq-listed Evernorth Holdings, which had just taken a public XRP treasury live, replied with “First post. Fourteen years of receipts.”
The greeting itself is here:

Why XRP Went Quiet After 2018
XRP never lacked a following. It lacked a token-level account because talking about XRP in public was, for years, a legal problem for the company most associated with it. Lawyer Bill Morgan, who tracked the SEC case closely, has said Ripple treated promotion itself as evidence the government could use.
Ripple could not promote XRP or the XRPL for fear of being sued by the SEC for promoting and offering for sale an unregistered security. Even then it was sued.

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission sued Ripple on December 22, 2020. In July 2023, U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres held that XRP as a digital token is not in and of itself a security, and that blind sales on public exchanges were not securities transactions, while certain direct sales to institutions were. Appeals were dropped in August 2025.
On March 17, 2026, the SEC and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission issued a joint interpretation naming XRP a digital commodity alongside bitcoin, ether, solana and a short list of other widely traded tokens. The new site leans on that paper trail. The account that could not exist while promotion looked like an offering now exists to say the offering theory does not apply.
The New Site Draws a Hard Line With Ripple
The same day, not issued by Ripple became homepage copy at xrp.org, under the banner “Crypto Responsibly.” The page is written to kill the old shorthand that treated the token and the company as one name. It says XRP already works, that it settles in 3 to 5 seconds for less than a penny, and that it has been doing the job since 2012.
WHAT XRP.ORG SAYS THE TOKEN IS NOT
- A meme: The site opens by separating XRP from joke coins and from culture-war branding.
- A share of a company: Holding XRP is not an equity claim on Ripple Labs.
- A stablecoin: The token is not pegged; Ripple’s dollar token, RLUSD, is a different product.
- Mined: There is no mining schedule and no block reward.
- Issued by Ripple: All 100 billion units were created in 2012, and the site says not a single new XRP has appeared in the 14 years since.
Ripple is described as a tech firm and a key contributor to the ledger’s development, not the issuer. The network is open-source. Anyone can read the code at xrpl.org. Transactions are public. The page says no single company owns or controls the ledger, and it points readers to the independent validators on the ledger.
The irony sits in the byline, not the FAQ. The handle created to give XRP its own voice lists Ripple first among its managers. The company that is not the issuer still holds the keys, jointly, with the nonprofit that exists to argue the ledger is bigger than one vendor.
The Clip That Lands on Bernstein
Hours after the greeting, @XRP posted a second video. “Perhaps the most normal thing in the world right now,” it said, then sent people to xrp.org. The clip runs through crypto adoption and 24/7 payments and lands on the word Bernstein, the Wall Street research house that has spent the past year telling clients digital assets are becoming ordinary market plumbing.
Perhaps the most normal thing in the world right now.

That is not a community town hall. It is a permission structure for people who allocate other people’s money. The account spent its first afternoon tapping back at Gemini, Kraken, Uphold and Evernorth rather than publishing a builder roadmap, which is how you talk when the next room is full of banks, not chart-watchers.
Evernorth Holdings, ticker XRPN, began Nasdaq trading on October 12, 2026, after a merger with Armada Acquisition Corp. II. On October 14 it said it would start putting a 473 million XRP treasury to work in the fourth quarter with Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase and BitGo, after raising about $300 million in gross cash. Garlinghouse had just stood at that closing-bell ceremony. Five days later the token’s new official account said hello to the treasury company by name.
New York Gets the Next Act on October 27
Ripple’s own Swell account greeted @XRP and pointed at New York. Swell 2026 runs October 27 through 29 at The Shed in Hudson Yards, eight days after the handle’s first post. Registration was set to close on October 20. Ripple is combining Swell with Apex, its XRP Ledger builder summit, and UBRI Connect for the first time, and it is bringing 1,500 decision-makers to New York for the conference’s 10th year.
THE ROAD FROM THE LAWSUIT TO SWELL
- 2012: 100 billion XRP are created at once; the ledger goes to work as a payments chain with no mining.
- December 22, 2020: The SEC sues Ripple over XRP sales, and public promotion of the token becomes a courtroom exhibit.
- July 2023: Judge Torres rules that XRP as a token is not in and of itself a security, while some institutional sales still were.
- August 2025: Both sides drop their appeals and the case stops hanging over every announcement.
- March 17, 2026: The SEC and CFTC name XRP a digital commodity in a joint interpretation.
- October 12 to 14, 2026: Evernorth lists on Nasdaq and names Ripple among the firms that will help deploy its XRP treasury.
- October 19, 2026: @XRP posts hello, then a “normal” video, jointly managed by Ripple and the Foundation.
- October 27 to 29, 2026: Swell opens at The Shed, with Garlinghouse, Monica Long, Schwartz, and bank and exchange chiefs on the bill.
Swell’s published program is tokenization, stablecoins, the first year of spot XRP exchange-traded funds, and a Schwartz session on what comes next for the ledger. The new account did not need to leak that agenda. It only needed to exist so that, in that room, XRP could be introduced as an asset with its own channel instead of a ticker that still sounded like a vendor.
Settlement in Seconds, a Supply That Never Grows
The site’s other job is to make the ledger sound boring in the way a payments rail is supposed to sound boring. Fees on the chain are paid in XRP even when the thing moving is a stablecoin or a tokenized bond. XRP can sit in escrow until a time or a condition hits. Bridge trades convert a sending currency into XRP, settle, and convert out the other side.
XRP LEDGER FIGURES THE NEW SITE PUTS FIRST
| Claim | Figure | Who states it |
|---|---|---|
| Settlement time | 3 to 5 seconds | xrp.org |
| Typical fee | Less than a penny | xrp.org |
| Created supply | 100 billion, all in 2012 | xrp.org |
| New coins since launch | Zero; small amounts burn with fees | xrp.org |
| Value processed | Well over $1 trillion | Ripple, September 29, 2026 |
Ripple has said the ledger has run for well over a decade and that its own products moved trillions of dollars last year. Those are company figures, not a third-party audit of the new website. The Foundation’s executive director, Brett Mollin, is on the Swell ecosystem track to argue that firms should run validators for a vote in how the network changes, not for a fee. That pitch only works if XRP is seen as a public chain. The new account is how that sentence gets said without coming from @Ripple alone.
Exchanges Showed Up Before a Roadmap Did
Uphold, Gemini and MoonPay were among the first names in the replies, posting their own hellos as if a listing had just gone live on a new venue. Kraken got a handshake back. The thread under the launch post, at least in the slice that surfaces, reads like a receiving line of market venues, not an argument about code.
Holders who wanted a utility briefing will wait. Early posts point at education, “responsible” use, and the website’s warnings about phishing, destination tags, and transfers that cannot be reversed. There is no disclosed editorial calendar and no promise that @XRP will talk price, which the bio already forbids as advice.
The split the lawsuit forced into case law is now a social-media org chart. XRP has a handle, a site, and a script that says the token is not the company. The company still co-authors the script, and the next audience for it is already booked into The Shed.
