What this page is for

This page draws the line between what IAQABA reports and what you decide to do with it. We publish news, analysis and opinion across ten sections for readers in many countries. We do not know your circumstances, your finances, your health, your legal position or the laws where you live, and nothing on the site is written with any individual reader’s situation in mind. Read it as reporting, not as advice.

General information only

Everything on iaqaba.com is provided for general information and public interest. A story can be accurate on the day it is published and out of date a week later; a figure can be right for one country and wrong for yours; a rule described in an article may not apply where you are. Before acting on anything you read here, confirm it against a primary source or a qualified professional.

Business and market coverage is not financial advice

Our business section reports on companies, markets, currencies, commodities, property and the economy. It describes what happened and what named people say about it. It does not recommend that you buy, sell or hold anything, and it does not assess whether any investment suits you. Prices and rates quoted in a story are correct at the time stated in the story and move constantly afterwards. Anyone making financial decisions should use a licensed adviser and their own judgment.

Health, science and lifestyle coverage is not medical advice

Stories about research findings, treatments, diets, fitness, sleep and wellbeing describe what a study found or what an authority said. A single study is not a clinical guideline, an early result is not a settled fact, and a claim reported with attribution is not our endorsement of it. Nothing on the site should be used to diagnose a condition, to start or stop a treatment, or to replace advice from a doctor who knows you.

Travel, auto and consumer coverage is not a guarantee

Travel stories describe destinations, routes, rules and conditions as they were when reported. Entry requirements, prices, schedules and safety conditions change, sometimes overnight, and you should check official sources before you book or travel. Auto and technology stories describe products from specifications, announcements, recalls and our own observations where we have them. They are not purchasing advice, and a feature described as announced may ship late, differently or not at all.

Sports, entertainment and gaming coverage

Fixtures, results, standings, release dates, schedules and prices are reported as published by the bodies responsible for them and are subject to change by those bodies. Coverage of odds, transfers, box office and sales figures is reporting, not a prediction or a recommendation. Where we report a rumour as a rumour, treat it as one. Nothing in these sections is advice to wager money.

Legal and political coverage is not legal advice

We report on laws, court rulings, regulations and elections in many jurisdictions. A story explains a rule as it was described in the source we cite; it does not tell you how that rule applies to you. Laws differ between countries and change over time. For anything with legal consequences, consult someone qualified where you live.

Claims, forecasts and quotations

Companies, governments, teams, studios, researchers and individuals make claims, and we report them with attribution. Attribution is not agreement. A forecast is a forecast, a target is a target, and a benchmark run by the party being measured is exactly that. Quotations reflect what the speaker said, not our view. Opinion pieces reflect the view of the writer and are labelled; they are not the position of the site.

Accuracy, timeliness and errors

We check our work before it runs and correct it after, under the fact-checking and corrections policies. We still make mistakes, and news about moving events can be overtaken within hours. We do not warrant that any story is complete, error-free or current. If you find an error, write to support@iaqaba.com with CORRECTION in the subject line and we will look at it promptly.

Links, embeds and advertising

We link to and embed third-party material because it is relevant, not because we endorse it, and we are not responsible for its content, accuracy or availability. Advertisements on the site are served by a third-party network. We do not write, review or vouch for them, and an advertisement’s appearance on a page is not a recommendation. Anything you buy or sign up for through an advertisement is a matter between you and the advertiser.

Images

Photographs and illustrations are chosen to show the subject of a story, its setting or something closely related to it. A picture of a product is not proof that we have tested it, a picture of a place is not a guarantee of what you will find there, and an illustration is an illustration. Where an image is a file photo, a supplied image or a rendering, the caption says so.

No warranty and limitation of liability

The site is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law where you live allows, IAQABA and its operator disclaim all warranties, express or implied, and are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or reliance on its content. This does not exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. The terms of service set out the full position.
