Cold Weather and Light Rain Forecast Across Egypt on Tuesday

Egypt is set to experience a sharp drop in temperatures on Tuesday, with very cold conditions expected during the early morning and nighttime hours, according to official weather forecasts. Parts of the country may also see light rainfall and dense morning mist, raising concerns for commuters and drivers.

The weather pattern reflects typical late December conditions, with colder air masses affecting much of the country as the year draws to a close.

Very cold mornings and nights, mild daytime conditions

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority said temperatures will be very cold during the early morning hours, gradually becoming slightly warm during the daytime across most regions.

Despite the daytime improvement, cold conditions are expected to return quickly after sunset. Very cold weather will prevail overnight in most parts of the country, particularly in inland areas and open spaces.

Residents are advised to dress warmly, especially during early morning travel and late evening hours.

Dense morning mist to affect key road networks

Morning mist is expected to form across wide areas, with visibility potentially dropping at times. The authority warned that mist may become dense on several major roads, especially those linking northern regions.

Areas likely to be affected include:

  • Roads to and from Greater Cairo

  • Northern parts of Upper Egypt

  • Northern Lower Egypt

  • Central Sinai

Drivers are urged to reduce speed, use headlights properly, and maintain safe distances to avoid accidents during low visibility conditions.

Light rainfall expected in northern regions

There is also a chance of light rainfall at intervals in parts of the northwestern coast and northern Lower Egypt. While rainfall amounts are not expected to be heavy, brief showers could make roads slippery, particularly during the early hours.

The rainfall is forecast to be scattered rather than widespread, with no major disruptions anticipated. However, coastal areas may experience short spells of unsettled weather during the day.

Winds to pick up along the northwestern coast

Intermittent wind activity is expected in parts of the northwestern coast. While winds are not forecast to reach disruptive levels, they may add to the cold feel, especially near coastal areas.

People heading to open coastal locations are advised to take precautions, as cooler winds can significantly lower perceived temperatures.

What residents should keep in mind

With cold nights, misty mornings, and the possibility of light rain, authorities recommend basic safety measures.

  • Wear warm clothing during early and late hours

  • Drive carefully in areas affected by mist

  • Stay updated with local weather bulletins

As winter conditions continue, staying informed can help reduce risks and ensure smoother daily routines.

If you are experiencing unusual weather conditions in your area, share your updates and observations in the comments and help others stay prepared.
