Samsung is reportedly working on a new pair of wireless earbuds that will be more affordable than its previous models. The earbuds, dubbed as the Galaxy Buds FE, have been leaked in several images that show their design and features.
The Galaxy Buds FE are expected to have a simple design that resembles the Galaxy Buds+ with a glossy touch area and rubber wingtips that will come in different sizes. The earbuds will also have two pogo pins for charging and a microphone on each bud. The case will be similar to the Galaxy Buds2 and Buds2 Pro’s, with a USB-C port at the back, one light at the front for overall battery charge, and one on the inside that reveals the charge the buds have.
The leaked images show the Galaxy Buds FE in two colors: white and black. However, there could be more color options available at launch. The earbuds are expected to have a 12 mm driver for “improved bass reproduction” and an IPX4 rating for water and sweat resistance.
Galaxy Buds FE: A budget-friendly option for Samsung fans
The Galaxy Buds FE are rumored to be priced under $100, making them the cheapest TWS earbuds from Samsung. The earbuds are likely to be part of a huge FE announcement, where Samsung will also unveil the Galaxy S23 FE smartphone and two Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablets. The launch date is yet to be confirmed, but some retailers have already listed the Galaxy Buds FE for sale at €88.90, which is even less than $100.
The Galaxy Buds FE will compete with other budget-friendly earbuds in the market, such as the OnePlus Buds Z, the Realme Buds Q2, and the Xiaomi Redmi AirDots 3. However, Samsung may have an edge over its rivals with its brand recognition and ecosystem integration. The Galaxy Buds FE could also attract customers who want a simple and reliable pair of earbuds without breaking the bank.
Galaxy Buds FE: What we don’t know yet
While the design and features of the Galaxy Buds FE have been revealed by the leaks, there are still some unknowns about the earbuds. For instance, we don’t know how long the battery life will be, whether they will support wireless charging or fast charging, or what kind of sound quality and noise cancellation they will offer. We also don’t know if they will have any special features like Ambient Sound mode, Gaming mode, or Bixby voice assistant.
We will have to wait for Samsung to officially announce the Galaxy Buds FE to get more details about them. Until then, we can only hope that they will live up to their expectations and deliver a great audio experience at a low price.
