Xiaomi has not revealed much about the specifications and features of the Xiaomi 13T series yet, but some leaks and rumours have suggested what we can expect from the upcoming devices.
Xiaomi 13T Series Expected Specifications
According to previous reports, the Xiaomi 13T series will be closely related to the Xiaomi 13 Pro series that was launched in China earlier this year. The Xiaomi 13T and the Xiaomi 13T Pro are likely to run on MIUI 14 out of the box and sport 6.67-inch displays with high refresh rates.
The main difference between the two models is expected to be in the processor and the camera department. The Xiaomi 13T is said to be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultra SoC, while the Xiaomi 13T Pro could pack a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC under the hood. Both chipsets are based on a 6nm process and support dual-SIM dual-5G connectivity.
The Xiaomi 13T is tipped to feature a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The Xiaomi 13T Pro, on the other hand, could boast a more impressive triple rear camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel Sony IMX707 main sensor with OIS, a 13-megapixel Omnivision OV138 ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a third sensor that could be either a telephoto lens or a periscope lens with up to 120x digital zoom.
Both smartphones are expected to feature Leica-tuned cameras that will offer superior image quality and performance. Leica is known for its high-end cameras and lenses that are used by professional photographers and enthusiasts. The collaboration between Xiaomi and Leica could give the Xiaomi 13T series an edge over its competitors in terms of photography.
Xiaomi 13T Series Expected Price and Availability
Xiaomi has not announced the pricing and availability details of the Xiaomi 13T series yet, but we can expect them to be revealed at the launch event on September 26. However, based on the pricing of the previous generation models, we can make some guesses.
The Xiaomi 12T was launched in October last year at EUR499 (roughly Rs.43,400) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant and EUR549 (roughly Rs.47,700) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. The Xiaomi 12T Pro was priced at EUR599 (roughly Rs.52,000) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option and EUR649 (roughly Rs.56,400) for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option.
The Xiaomi 13T series could be priced similarly or slightly higher than the Xiaomi 12T series, depending on the specifications and features. The Xiaomi 13T series could also be available in multiple colour options, such as black, white, blue, green, and purple.
The Xiaomi 13T series is likely to compete with other flagship smartphones in the global market, such as the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, the OnePlus 10 series, the Google Pixel 6 series, and the iPhone 13 series.
