Delta Air Lines has announced a new partnership with Tom Brady, the legendary quarterback who won seven Super Bowls in his NFL career. Brady will serve as a long-term strategic adviser to the airline, working on internal training, customer engagement, and community impact.
Brady to share his winning spirit with Delta
Brady, who retired from football earlier this year, said he was grateful to join the Delta family, a company he has loved and respected for years. He said he was impressed by Delta’s commitment to world-class performance, excellence, and best-in-class results.
“I look forward to playing my part to continue the company’s success,” Brady said in a press release.
Brady will partner with Delta to develop and advise on strategic training and teamwork tools for the airline’s more than 90,000 employees. He will also support the company’s brand identity in select elements of Delta’s marketing and customer engagement.
Delta CEO Ed Bastian said that bringing a leader like Brady onto the Delta team furthers the company’s mission to connect the world while accelerating its drive to improve for its colleagues, customers, and communities.
“Tom’s spirit of winning and passion for inspiring people to be the best version of themselves aligns perfectly with Delta’s goal of connecting people to their greatest potential,” Bastian said.
Brady to focus on employee onboarding and cultural immersion
In his first year, Brady will focus on working closely with Delta employees for onboarding, cultural familiarity, and immersion into the Delta organization. He will also appear on Bastian’s video series with business leaders, philanthropists, and others.
Brady said he learned from his championship teams that great leadership and a commitment to excellence are the keys to success. He said he saw those qualities in Delta and its people.
“Now, alongside Ed and the Delta team, I hope to share some of the lessons I’ve learned along the way and help inspire the next generation of leaders,” Brady said.
Brady to support Delta’s work to positively impact communities
Brady will also support Delta’s work to positively impact communities where employees live and work. He will leverage his platform and influence to raise awareness and funds for causes that matter to him and Delta.
One of those causes is education. Brady is a co-chair of Best Buddies International, a nonprofit organization that creates opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Delta is a longtime supporter of Best Buddies and has partnered with the organization to provide jobs, leadership development, and inclusive living for its participants.
Brady said he was proud to work with Delta on this cause and others that make a difference in people’s lives.
“Delta is more than an airline. It’s a force for good in the world. I’m honored to be part of that,” Brady said.
