Moraya Wilson, a 21-year-old model and sports coach from Melbourne, was crowned Miss Universe Australia 2023 on September 1 at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins. She beat 23 other finalists and will represent Australia at the Miss Universe 2023 pageant in El Salvador this November. She is the first woman from Victoria to win the title since Jennifer Hawkins in 2004.
Wilson is currently pursuing her degree in business marketing at RMIT University and works as a ski racer and track and cross country coach at a secondary school. She is also passionate about mental health awareness and empowering young women to pursue their dreams.
Moraya Wilson shares stunning swimsuit photo from Vietnam trip
As part of the Miss Universe Australia program, Wilson and the other finalists went on a trip to Vietnam at Furama Resort Da Nang in August. There, they participated in various activities such as workshops, photoshoots, cultural tours, and charity events.
Wilson shared a stunning photo of herself in a red swimsuit on the beach during the trip on her Instagram account. She captioned it: “Feeling so grateful for this incredible experience. Thank you @missuniverseaustralia.official for this opportunity and thank you @furama_resort_danang for having us. You have been amazing.”
The photo received over 5,000 likes and hundreds of comments from her fans and fellow contestants. Some of the comments were:

Moraya Wilson receives new crown inspired by Banksia tree leaves
Wilson received the new Miss Universe Australia crown designed by Stelios Jewellers, which was inspired by Banksia tree leaves. The crown features white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, and diamonds, and represents the diversity and beauty of Australia.
Wilson said she was honored to wear the crown and thanked the sponsors and supporters of the pageant. She also expressed her excitement for the upcoming Miss Universe competition and said she was ready to represent her country on the global stage.
“I am so excited to be going to El Salvador for Miss Universe. I can’t wait to meet all the other amazing women from around the world and share our stories and cultures. I am proud to be Australian and I hope to make everyone proud too,” she said.
