Viking Expands Nile Fleet with Launch of New Ship Viking Sobek

Viking has officially welcomed the Viking Sobek to its growing fleet of Nile River ships in Egypt. The delivery ceremony took place at the Massara shipyard in Cairo, marking a significant milestone for the cruise line. This new addition underscores Viking’s commitment to offering luxurious and culturally rich experiences along the historic Nile River.

A New Level of Luxury on the Nile

Hosting 82 guests in 41 staterooms, the Viking Sobek is designed with the elegant Scandinavian aesthetic that Viking is known for.

Passengers can look forward to:

  • Spacious staterooms with modern amenities
  • The indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace for dining and relaxation
  • A distinctive square bow design for enhanced sailing experience

An identical sister ship to the Viking Osiris, Viking Aton, and Viking Hathor, the Sobek promises an intimate and upscale journey through Egypt.
