New route operates three times weekly aboard Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner
SINGAPORE — April 7, 2025 — In a strategic move to bolster air connectivity between the Middle East and Southeast Asia, Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has officially launched direct flights between Jeddah and Bali. The new service commenced on March 31, 2025, and will operate three times weekly, offering enhanced travel options for both leisure and religious travelers.
The route underscores Saudia’s ongoing international expansion strategy and reflects the airline’s commitment to supporting tourism, business travel, and pilgrimage traffic between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia—two countries linked by strong cultural and economic ties.
A Premium Route to a Popular Destination
The service is operated using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, configured with 24 Business Class and 274 Economy Class seats. Passengers can expect Saudia’s signature inflight hospitality, a wide range of entertainment options, and thoughtfully curated meal offerings inspired by regional flavors.
With Bali being a global tourist hotspot and Jeddah serving as a gateway to Makkah and Madinah, the route serves multiple market segments—from Indonesian umrah pilgrims and Saudi tourists to international travelers seeking seamless connections.
Expanding Saudia’s Asia-Pacific Footprint
“This route reflects our vision to expand our global footprint, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Faisal Alallah, Saudia’s Country Manager for Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. “We are responding to growing demand and enhancing the travel experience for our guests through more direct and convenient services.”
The launch of the Jeddah–Bali route also aligns with Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia’s economic diversification strategy, which aims to significantly boost the Kingdom’s tourism sector and position it as a global logistics and aviation hub.
Strengthening Religious and Leisure Travel Channels
Indonesia is home to the world’s largest Muslim population, and the new direct service is poised to simplify religious travel to Saudi Arabia, especially for umrah and Hajj pilgrims. At the same time, it opens up one of Asia’s most iconic leisure destinations to Middle Eastern tourists seeking cultural immersion, wellness retreats, and coastal experiences.
Looking Ahead
As Saudia expands its global network, this route adds to a growing list of international destinations connected via Jeddah. The airline has emphasized its commitment to enhancing guest experience, maintaining high safety standards, and offering competitive connectivity as part of its broader transformation strategy.
