Israeli military experts are playing the direct threat down for now. They point to the multi-layer air-defence network built against Iranian-style ballistic missiles and stress Turkey’s NATO membership plus NPT status. The deeper change sits in the independence: Ankara can now field a strategic conventional strike option that needs no US or European approval.
What the Tayfun Block-4 Is
Roketsan first showed the Block-4 at IDEF 2025 in Istanbul. It is a clear size jump from earlier Tayfun variants. The baseline Block-1 runs 6.5 metres long, 610 mm diameter and about 2,300 kg.
