Sarah Jessica Parker to Host the CFDA Fashion Awards 2023

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has announced that Sarah Jessica Parker will host the CFDA Fashion Awards 2023 presented by Amazon Fashion. The award-winning actor, producer, publisher, businesswoman and designer will host the evening’s awards ceremony that takes place on Nov. 6 at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

A Fashion Icon and Entrepreneur

Sarah Jessica Parker is best known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in the iconic TV series “Sex and the City” and its spin-off movies, where she showcased her fashion sense and style. She is also the founder and owner of her own footwear label SJP Collection, which she launched in 2014, and a beauty business, SJP Beauty. She has a footwear boutique at 385 Bleecker Street in New York City and has collaborated with various brands such as Gap, Halston Heritage, Intimissimi and Roc Skincare.

Parker is no stranger to the CFDA Fashion Awards, having attended the event several times and presented awards to designers such as Alexander McQueen, Oscar de la Renta and Diane von Furstenberg. She is also a frequent guest at the Met Gala and a front row fixture at fashion shows.

The CFDA Fashion Awards 2023

The CFDA Fashion Awards 2023 will honor the best of American fashion in categories such as Womenswear Designer of the Year, Menswear Designer of the Year, Accessories Designer of the Year and Emerging Designer of the Year. The nominees include established names such as Tory Burch, Thom Browne, Altuzarra and The Row, as well as emerging talents such as Christopher John Rogers, KidSuper, Diotima and Tanner Fletcher.

The event will also recognize the achievements and contributions of several industry veterans and leaders with special awards. Vera Wang will receive the Board of Directors’ Tribute for her impact on the bridal industry; Domenico De Sole, the former CEO of Gucci Group and Tom Ford International, will receive the Founder’s Award in honor of Eleanor Lambert; Maria Cornejo, who is celebrating 25 years in business this year, will receive the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award; Alina Cho, a journalist and editor-at-large at Ballantine Bantam Dell, will receive the Media Award in honor of Eugenia Sheppard; Mara Hoffman, a sustainable fashion pioneer, will receive the Environmental Sustainability Award; and Jonathan Anderson, the creative director of JW Anderson and Loewe, will receive the International Designer of the Year Award.

The CFDA Fashion Awards 2023 will be presented by Amazon Fashion, which is also partnering with the CFDA to create a digital storefront featuring collections from American designers. The event will take place at the American Museum of Natural History on Nov. 6 and will be streamed live on Amazon.com.
