Samsung launches a budget-friendly 5G tablet in the US

Samsung has recently announced the availability of its Galaxy Tab A9 Plus in the US market, a budget-friendly tablet that supports 5G connectivity. The Tab A9 Plus was launched in October last year, but it was only available in select regions until now. The tablet offers a 11-inch screen with a 90Hz refresh rate, a 7,040mAh battery, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It also comes with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage, depending on the model.

One of the most attractive features of the Tab A9 Plus is its 5G capability, which is rare for a tablet in this price range. The tablet costs $269 for the 5G version, which is compatible with T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, and US Cellular networks. The Wi-Fi-only version costs $219, which is still a competitive price for an Android tablet with a 90Hz screen. The 5G version only comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, while the Wi-Fi-only version has the option of 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

The 5G feature allows users to enjoy faster and more reliable internet access on their tablets, which can be useful for streaming, gaming, or working on the go. The Tab A9 Plus also supports Samsung DeX, which lets users connect their tablet to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse for a desktop-like experience.

A smooth and spacious screen

Another highlight of the Tab A9 Plus is its 11-inch screen, which has a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. The higher refresh rate makes the screen smoother and more responsive, especially for scrolling, gaming, or watching videos. The screen also has a 16:10 aspect ratio, which gives more space for multitasking or viewing content. The screen is surrounded by thin bezels, which give the tablet a sleek and modern look.

The tablet also has an 8-megapixel rear camera, which can record videos in 1080p at 30 frames per second. The camera also supports auto-focus and HDR. The front-facing camera has a 5-megapixel sensor, which can be used for video calls or selfies. The tablet also has dual speakers with Dolby Atmos support, which provide immersive sound quality.

A long-lasting and versatile battery

The Tab A9 Plus has a 7,040mAh battery, which can last up to 12 hours of video playback or 15 hours of internet usage, according to Samsung. The battery also supports 15W fast charging, which can replenish the battery in about two hours. The tablet also has a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD card slot for expanding the storage up to 1TB.

The tablet runs on Android 11 with Samsung’s One UI 3.1, which offers a user-friendly and customizable interface. The tablet also has some exclusive features from Samsung, such as Bixby, Samsung Kids, and Samsung Health. The tablet also supports Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5, and GPS.

A budget-friendly alternative to the Tab S9 series

The Tab A9 Plus is a budget-friendly alternative to Samsung’s flagship tablet series, the Tab S9 and Tab S9 Plus, which start at $449 and $549, respectively. The Tab S9 series offers more premium features, such as S Pen compatibility, an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, a 120Hz screen, and a quad-speaker system. However, the Tab A9 Plus offers a similar screen size, a 5G option, and a lower price tag, which may appeal to users who are looking for a more affordable tablet with decent performance and features.

The Tab A9 Plus is available in three colors: navy, graphite, and silver. Users can purchase the tablet from Samsung’s website or from various retailers and carriers.
