ROSHN Group, Saudi Arabia’s leading multi-asset class real estate developer and a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has announced the development of an iconic 45,000-seat stadium in Southwest Riyadh. The stadium, spanning over 450,000 square meters, will be a landmark mixed-use project featuring shops, restaurants, and hospitality venues. This ambitious project aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to enhance the quality of life and support economic growth in the Kingdom.

ROSHN’s new stadium is set to become a significant landmark in Southwest Riyadh. The stadium’s modern crystalline design, inspired by the urban fabric and architectural features of Saudi Arabia’s central region, will emerge into the sky from the surrounding district. The project will encompass a wide range of shops, restaurants, and hospitality venues, making it a vibrant destination for both locals and visitors.

The stadium will feature a main sports and event floor that seamlessly connects the various facilities with an open and cohesive design. This design ensures that visitors can easily navigate the complex and enjoy the various amenities on offer. The stadium’s sustainable design incorporates the latest water and energy management technologies, including solar panels integrated into the infrastructure.

In addition to hosting sporting events, the stadium will also serve as a venue for entertainment, cultural, and social events. This multi-purpose use will make the stadium a central hub for various activities, contributing to the overall vibrancy of the area.

Enhancing Quality of Life

The development of the stadium is a pivotal step in ROSHN’s expansion into mixed-use development across various sectors, including sports facilities. This project underscores ROSHN Group’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life through sustainable real estate development in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The stadium will provide visitors with access to sports facilities such as walkways and public green spaces, making it a vibrant destination.

The stadium’s design also focuses on sustainability, incorporating the latest technologies for water and energy management. Solar panels integrated into the stadium’s infrastructure will help reduce its environmental impact, while the roof design enhances air movement, ensuring adequate ventilation and controlled access to sunlight inside the stadium during daylight hours.

ROSHN’s commitment to sustainability extends beyond the stadium itself. The surrounding area will feature public green spaces and walkways, providing residents and visitors with ample opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities. This focus on sustainability and quality of life is a key component of ROSHN’s overall development strategy.

A Hub for International Events

Designed to meet the requirements for hosting the most prominent international sporting events, the stadium will also host other entertainment, cultural, and social events. Its sustainable design incorporates the latest water and energy management technologies, including solar panels integrated into the stadium’s infrastructure. The roof design enhances air movement, ensuring adequate ventilation and controlled access to sunlight inside the stadium during daylight hours.

The stadium’s ability to host international events will enhance Riyadh’s attractiveness as a destination for global competitions and gatherings. This will not only boost the local economy but also contribute to the Kingdom’s goal of becoming a leading destination for international events.

ROSHN’s Acting CEO, Dr. Khalid Johar, emphasized the significance of the project, stating, “ROSHN Stadium embodies ROSHN’s strategic transformation as a multi-asset class developer. We are proud to undertake this ambitious project, which will contribute to improving the quality of life and supporting economic growth in line with Saudi Vision 2030 while providing a unique gathering place in Riyadh and enhancing the Kingdom’s attractiveness to host international events and sporting competitions.”
