Vivo has announced that it will launch its flagship X100 series in India on January 4, 2024. The X100 series consists of two models: the X100 and the X100 Pro. Both phones feature ZEISS camera technology, MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset, and vivo V3 chip for photography. The X100 series also boasts of a unique feature that can capture the radiance of the sun during sunrise and sunset.

The X100 series is the result of a collaboration between vivo and ZEISS, the world-renowned optics company. The phones are equipped with ZEISS lenses, ZEISS T* coating, and ZEISS APO certification. The ZEISS APO certification is the industry’s first and it ensures minimal chromatic aberration and high resolution in telephoto shots.

The X100 Pro has a 50MP 1-inch main camera sensor, which is the industry’s largest. It also has a 50MP 4.3X periscope telephoto and a 50MP ultrawide camera. The X100 has a 50MP primary camera, a 64MP periscope telephoto with 3X optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide camera. Both phones support up to 100X digital zoom but only the Pro model supports 8K video recording. They also have a 32MP front camera for selfies.

The X100 series also features the ability to capture the radiance of the sun during sunrise and sunset. This feature uses an algorithm to capture the depth and colour accuracy of the sun, instead of AI. The phones can also adjust the exposure and white balance automatically to produce stunning photos of the sun.

MediaTek Dimensity 9300 and vivo V3 Chip: Powerful Performance and Photography

The X100 series is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 processor, which has a 3.25GHz peak clock speed and a 2212302 AnTuTu score. The Dimensity 9300 is the first chipset in India to support 5G dual SIM dual standby (DSDS) and 5G carrier aggregation (CA). The chipset also supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and UFS 3.1 storage.

The X100 series also has a vivo V3 chip, which is a custom chip designed for photography. The vivo V3 chip enhances the image processing, noise reduction, and stabilization of the ZEISS cameras. The vivo V3 chip also supports HDR10+ video recording, 3D portrait mode, and night mode.

The X100 Pro has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, while the X100 has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Both phones run on Android 14-based OriginOS 4, which is vivo’s new operating system that offers a minimalist and intuitive user interface.

The X100 series features a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 2800x1260p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 2,160Hz PWM dimming, and 3,000 nits of peak brightness. The display also supports HDR10+, DCI-P3 colour gamut, and SGS eye protection certification. The display can automatically adjust the refresh rate and brightness according to the content and ambient light.

The X100 series also offers fast charging capabilities. The X100 Pro has a 5,400mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging. The X100 has a 5,000mAh battery that supports 120W wired fast charging. Both phones can charge up to 80% in just 15 minutes and 100% in 30 minutes.

The X100 series also has other features such as an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, NFC, and IP68 water and dust resistance. The phones come in two colour options: Aurora Blue and Midnight Black.

The X100 series is expected to be priced around Rs. 45,000 for the X100 and Rs. 57,000 for the X100 Pro. The phones will be available for pre-order on vivo’s official website and other online and offline platforms.
