Oppo Find N3: A Foldable Phone with Hasselblad Cameras and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2

Oppo, the Chinese smartphone maker, has launched its latest foldable phone, the Find N3, which will compete with the likes of Google Pixel Fold and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the global market. The Find N3 boasts a 7.82-inch inner display, a 6.31-inch outer display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, and a Hasselblad-branded camera system.

Oppo Find N3: Price and Availability

The Oppo Find N3 is priced at SGD 2,399 (approximately Rs 1,34,000) for the sole variant with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The phone comes in four colors: Classic Black, Champagne Gold, Starry Blue, and Rose Gold. The phone is available for pre-order in Singapore starting from October 20, and will go on sale from November 11. Oppo has not announced the availability of the Find N3 in other markets yet.

Oppo Find N3: Design and Display

The Oppo Find N3 features a book-style foldable design with a Flexion Hinge that can withstand one million folds. The phone has an IPX4 rating for splash resistance and a tri-state alert slider on the side. The phone also has dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

The Find N3 has two AMOLED displays with dynamic refresh rates of up to 120Hz. The inner display measures 7.82 inches and has a resolution of 2268×2440 pixels. The outer display measures 6.31 inches and has a resolution of 1116×2484 pixels. Both displays have HDR10+ support and can reach up to 2800 nits of peak brightness.

Oppo Find N3: Performance and Battery

The Oppo Find N3 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which is based on a 4nm process and has an octa-core CPU with a peak frequency of 2.9GHz. The chipset also has an Adreno 730 GPU, a Hexagon 770 AI engine, and a Snapdragon X65 5G modem. The phone has 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

The Find N3 packs a 4805mAh battery that supports 67W SuperVOOC fast charging. According to Oppo, the phone can be fully charged in just 42 minutes using the bundled charger. The phone also supports reverse wireless charging at up to 10W.

Oppo Find N3: Cameras

The Oppo Find N3 has a total of five cameras, three on the back and two on the front. The rear camera system is co-engineered with Hasselblad, the Swedish camera maker that is known for its iconic medium-format cameras and its collaboration with NASA.

The main camera on the back is a Sony IMX789 sensor with a resolution of 48 megapixels and an aperture of f/1.8. It supports optical image stabilization (OIS), dual pixel autofocus (PDAF), laser autofocus (LAF), and omnidirectional phase detection autofocus (OPDAF). It can record up to 8K videos at 30fps or 4K videos at 120fps.

The second camera on the back is a Sony IMX766 sensor with a resolution of 64 megapixels and an aperture of f/2.2. It is an ultra-wide-angle camera with a field of view of 120 degrees and a macro mode that can focus as close as 4cm.

The third camera on the back is a periscope telephoto camera with a resolution of 48 megapixels and an aperture of f/4.1. It supports OIS and PDAF and offers up to 10x optical zoom or up to 100x digital zoom.

The front camera system consists of two sensors: a Sony IMX616 sensor with a resolution of 32 megapixels and an aperture of f/2.4, and an OmniVision OV20880 sensor with a resolution of 20 megapixels and an aperture of f/2.4. The former is a wide-angle camera with autofocus and HDR support, while the latter is an ultra-wide-angle camera with a field of view of 105 degrees.

The Find N3 also supports various camera modes and features, such as Night Mode, Portrait Mode, Pro Mode, AI Scene Enhancement, AI Color Portrait, AI Beautification, and more. The phone also has a dedicated shutter button on the side for easy access to the camera app.

Oppo Find N3: Software and Features

The Oppo Find N3 runs on ColorOS 13, which is based on Android 13. The software offers a customized user interface and various features for the foldable phone, such as Boundless View, Flexion Desktop, Multi-Window, and more.

Boundless View allows users to run two or three apps simultaneously on the inner display, with one app occupying the full screen and the other app(s) appearing as floating windows. Users can switch between apps with a four-finger pinch gesture or drag and drop content across apps.

Flexion Desktop is a desktop-like interface that can be activated on the inner display when the phone is folded at an angle. It offers a taskbar, a start menu, and resizable windows for multitasking.

Multi-Window is a feature that lets users run two apps side by side on the outer display, with a slider to adjust the size of each app. Users can also drag and drop content across apps or use the clipboard to copy and paste text or images.

The Find N3 also supports various gestures and shortcuts, such as double-tap to wake, swipe up to go home, swipe down to access notifications, swipe left or right to go back, long press to activate Google Assistant, and more.
