Moon Knight’s Death and Rebirth Celebrated by Batman Artist

Greg Capullo, the acclaimed artist of Batman and other DC Comics titles, has made his long-awaited comeback to Marvel Comics with some amazing variant covers for Moon Knight. The covers feature the death and rebirth of the Fist of Khonshu, the vigilante hero who has multiple personalities and draws power from the Egyptian moon god.

Capullo’s covers are for Moon Knight #30 and Vengeance of the Moon Knight #1, which are written by Jed MacKay and illustrated by Alessandro Cappuccio. The two issues will mark a major turning point in the Moon Knight saga, as Marc Spector, the original Moon Knight, will die at the hands of his nemesis Black Spectre in December, and a new, more brutal Moon Knight will rise in January.

Capullo’s covers show the contrast between the classic white costume of Marc Spector and the dark, armored suit of the new Moon Knight. The covers are also available as virgin variants, without any text or logos.

Moon Knight’s legacy lives on in a new era

Moon Knight is one of Marvel’s most complex and intriguing characters, who has struggled with mental illness, identity crisis, and moral ambiguity throughout his history. He was created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin in 1975, and has since been reinvented by many writers and artists, such as Brian Michael Bendis, Warren Ellis, Jeff Lemire, and Max Bemis.

The current run of Moon Knight by MacKay and Cappuccio has been praised by fans and critics alike for its balance of action, horror, humor, and drama. The series explores Moon Knight’s role as the protector of those who travel at night, as well as his relationship with Khonshu, his supporting cast, and his enemies.

MacKay has promised that the death of Marc Spector will not be the end of the story, but rather the beginning of a new chapter that will change everything for Moon Knight and his world.

“We’re thrilled to bring the next chapter of this saga to uneasy life as the Midnight Mission reels from a recent loss… and yet, Moon Knight still stalks the night time streets? Despite the apocalyptic events of MOON KNIGHT #28-30, we have plenty left to tell in the story of the Moon Knight, and I’m excited for readers to join us!” MacKay said.
