LG unveils its largest OLED TV and new QNED Mini LED TVs at CES 2023

LG Electronics has announced its latest lineup of TVs for 2023 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The company has introduced its largest OLED TV ever, the 97-inch G2 OLED, as well as new models of QNED Mini LED TVs with improved picture quality and features.

The LG G2 OLED is the flagship model of LG’s OLED TV series, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. The G2 OLED boasts a massive 97-inch screen size, making it the largest OLED TV in the world. The G2 OLED also features OLED evo technology, which enhances the brightness, contrast, and color accuracy of the display.

The G2 OLED is powered by the α9 Gen5 AI Processor, which uses deep learning algorithms to optimize the picture and sound quality according to the content and viewing environment. The G2 OLED also supports Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos, as well as HDMI 2.1, eARC, and VRR for gaming enthusiasts.

The G2 OLED has a sleek and minimalist design, with a thin and bezel-less screen that blends seamlessly into any space. The G2 OLED also comes with a Gallery Stand, which allows the TV to be placed on a floor or a table, and a Gallery Mode, which displays artworks or photos when the TV is not in use.

LG QNED Mini LED: The next level of LCD TV

LG has also expanded its QNED Mini LED TV lineup, which combines quantum dot and NanoCell technology with MiniLED backlighting. The QNED Mini LED TVs offer richer and more accurate colors, as well as enhanced contrast and brightness, compared to conventional LCD TVs.

The QNED Mini LED TVs are available in various sizes and resolutions, ranging from 43-inch to 86-inch and from 4K to 8K. The QNED Mini LED TVs are equipped with the α7 Gen5 AI Processor, which provides AI Picture Pro and AI 4K Upscaling for 4K models, and the α9 Gen5 AI Processor, which provides AI Picture Pro and 8K Upscaling for 8K models.

The QNED Mini LED TVs also support Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos, as well as HDMI 2.1, eARC, and VRR. The QNED Mini LED TVs have a slim and elegant design, with a Cinema Screen that minimizes the bezel and a Center Stand that enhances the stability and aesthetics of the TV.

LG webOS 22: The smarter and more personalized TV platform

LG has also announced webOS 22, the latest version of its smart TV platform, which will be available on all of its 2023 TV models. webOS 22 introduces several new features and improvements, such as:

  • Multiple user profiles: webOS 22 allows users to create and switch between different profiles, each with their own customized home screen, content recommendations, and settings.
  • Always Ready: webOS 22 enables the TV to display useful information or content, such as time, weather, music, or photos, when the TV is turned off or in standby mode.
  • Magic Explorer: webOS 22 provides more information and options for the content being watched, such as actors, trivia, related videos, or shopping links, which can be accessed by pressing the Magic Remote button.
  • Magic Tap: webOS 22 allows users to connect their smartphones to the TV by simply tapping the NFC tag on the remote, and then mirror the phone screen, play music, or control the TV with the phone.
  • Sports Alert: webOS 22 notifies users of the latest scores and updates of their favorite teams and leagues, and lets them switch to the live broadcast or watch highlights with one click.

LG’s 2023 TV lineup will be showcased at CES 2023, which will take place from January 5 to January 8 in Las Vegas. LG will also demonstrate its innovations in other areas, such as home appliances, air purifiers, soundbars, and mobility solutions.
