Owens Centers Erika Kirk in Her Egyptian Jet Theory

Candace Owens says two Egyptian military jets overlapped Erika Kirk’s travel 73 times, and that Charlie Kirk was killed to keep his wife quiet. Utah prosecutors have charged a 22-year-old local man with firing a bolt-action rifle from a campus roof on Sept. 10, 2025.

The gap between those stories now sits on Erika Kirk. She is the widow, the new chief executive of Turning Point USA, and the person Owens’s flight logs are built to follow.

Owens Says the Planes Were Following Erika Kirk

On Nov. 17, 2025, Owens devoted a podcast episode, Operation Mocking-Plane, to a pair of tail numbers, SU-BTT, which she color-coded yellow, and SU-BND, blue. She told viewers a “pregnant mommy sleuth” had first counted 68 overlaps between those aircraft and Erika Kirk’s documented locations from 2022 through September 2025, then said she raised the tally to 73. In 29 of those hits, she said, Charlie Kirk was there too.

She had first flagged an Egyptian Air Force jet at Provo, Utah, in an Oct. 11, 2025 post, a month after the shooting. The November episode flipped the target. “The person the planes were actually tracking for years was Erica, not Charlie,” she said on a short companion clip from her channel.

Flight-tracking listings identify SU-BTT as a jet listed as a Dassault Falcon 7X. Owens said she pulled tracks from ADS-B Exchange and matched them to Erika Kirk’s public schedule, including trips overseas. “Why did they keep going back to Erika?” she asked. “What is it about these Egyptian planes that was making them spiral?”

She also posted Utah and Arizona plate numbers she tied to cars at Duncan Aviation in Provo and asked students and residents to send photos to a tip email. Authorities have released no evidence that those cars, or those jets, were part of the killing.

THE TWO TAILS SHE NAMED

She called the math “indisputable” and put the chance of a random match at less than 0.000000001 percent under models she did not publish. No aviation authority or prosecutor has adopted that figure.

The Charging Papers Name a Utah 22-Year-Old

The official file does not mention Egypt. On Sept. 10, 2025, at about 12:23 p.m., Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck while taking questions at Utah Valley University in Orem, the first stop on a campus tour. The information filed by Utah County Attorney Jeffrey S. Gray says a gunman in dark clothes climbed onto a roof, fired a bolt-action.30-06, then ran. Police found the rifle nearby. DNA consistent with Tyler James Robinson, born April 16, 2003, was on the trigger, the information says.

Robinson, then 22, turned himself in on the evening of Sept. 11 at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, about 33 hours after the shot. Gray charged him on Sept. 16 with seven counts, including aggravated murder, and said he would seek the death penalty. Prosecutors added a victim-targeting enhancement, alleging Robinson picked Kirk because of Kirk’s political expression, and cited texts in which Robinson told his roommate he had “had enough of his hatred.”

“Charlie Kirk was murdered while engaging in one of our most sacred and cherished American rights,” Gray said when he announced the charges.

THE UTAH CASE IN DATES

Graf’s written order said the shot came from about 415 feet away and 68 feet above Kirk. Robinson is held without bail. He has not been convicted. The public filings in the capital murder case are docketed as State of Utah v. Tyler James Robinson, Case No. 251403576, in the Fourth Judicial District Court in Provo.

How a UTC Mixup Became Her Proof of Panic

Owens’s first jet post said an Egyptian Air Force plane, SU-BTT, flew out of Provo after Kirk was killed. Public logs showed a morning departure, about 7 a.m. local time, 5 hours and 23 minutes before the 12:23 p.m. shooting. Trackers print times in UTC. 13:08 UTC is 7:08 a.m. in Utah in September, not 1:08 p.m. Owens later said she “got the time zone wrong by a couple of hours.”

She treated the speed of that correction as the tell. An account “that did not even exist wrote, ‘Oh, the time zone is wrong,’” she recalled, and then “they pretended it had been officially debunked just because the departure time was wrong.” She called the pile-on pre-bunking, a full fleet sent out to shut her down before she said more.

In the November episode she offered a finer readout for Sept. 10. She said one jet transponded from 9:05 a.m. until 10:34 a.m., went dark, then lit up again at 12:40 p.m., 17 minutes after the shot, until 1:29 p.m., which she tied to the Duncan Aviation FBO in Provo. Those times are her reading of a public feed. They are not in Gray’s information, and they do not erase the earlier 7 a.m. departure that undercut her first post.

WHAT OPEN FLIGHT DATA CAN SHOW

• Broadcast pings: Hobby sites republish ADS-B, the system the FAA now calls the preferred method of air traffic surveillance in U.S. airspace, so a tail number can be watched by anyone with a browser.
• Clock traps: The same feeds stamp UTC, and a Utah afternoon shooting does not move a 7 a.m. local takeoff into the afternoon.
• No motive field: A ping records that a transponder was on, not that a jet was assigned to follow a person.
• Hangar noise: A foreign VIP jet in a Provo maintenance shop can light up a map without chasing a campus speaker a few miles away.

A December 2025 pass through the same public logs found that a majority of the claimed overlaps put the jets on the wrong continent. Owens had promised a corrected interactive tracker. Independent checks said it did not appear. Alex Jones even ran a debunk of the surveillance reading, which did not move her. The planes are real. The targeting pattern is her reading of open data, not a finding in the Utah file.

Eight Days Later, She Ran Turning Point USA

On Sept. 18, 2025, eight days after the shooting, Turning Point USA’s board unanimously elected Erika Kirk CEO and chair of the board. The board said Charlie Kirk had told multiple executives that was what he wanted if he died.

“Charlie prepared all of us for a moment like this one,” the board wrote. “We will not surrender or kneel before evil. We will carry on.” Mikey McCoy, the group’s chief of staff, said that listening to her felt, for the first time, like speaking to Charlie.

Andrew Kolvet, the spokesman, said Turning Point had received more than 54,000 inquiries about new chapters that week, on top of about 900 college and 1,200 high school chapters already on the books. Erika Kirk, a former Miss Arizona USA who married Charlie in 2021 and has two children with him, had already promised, two days after the shooting, to make the group “the biggest thing that this nation has ever seen.”

That succession is why the recast bites. The theory does not only argue that Utah has the wrong shooter. It argues that the woman now running the organization was the one foreign aircraft had been following, and that her husband died to keep her from talking.

Erika Kirk Asked Her to Stop

In December 2025, at a televised town hall, Erika Kirk went out of her way to take the plane question. She said she had been pregnant for most of the trips Owens mapped, had not been in all the cities on the dates claimed, and had hospital photos from days she was supposed to have been elsewhere.

So if you want to go through my flight log, go right ahead, it’s very boring. You say I was here on this date. I have a photo on my phone to prove that I actually was in the hospital because I was having contractions. So, game on.

She said she feared online theories would taint the jury pool in Robinson’s case. She also said she had a Treasury Department letter showing Turning Point was not under investigation for financial fraud, a separate rumor that had attached itself to the same swirl. She reminded the room that she and Owens had once been close. Charlie and Owens, she said, used to be like brother and sister. Then she asked Owens to stop.

Owens posted that Erika had “completely dodged” a claim no one had made, that the Kirks themselves flew the Egyptian jets. She drafted the statement she said the world wanted: that Erika had no idea why the planes crossed so many Turning Point cities and had sent the files to the FBI “just in case it’s not.” “We’re leaving no stone unturned” was the line she wanted spoken, and it was not the line she got.

They then sat for a 4.5-hour meeting. Owens came out saying she was “alive,” “totally fine,” and “very surprised by some of the answers,” including on the Egyptian planes and on Turning Point USA Faith. She did not drop the theory. She soon said the same jets were switching off transponders and flying in and out of Israel, which she called the reason the subject caused “mass panic.”

In January 2026, Owens said Turning Point lawyers had sent her a cease-and-desist letter warning her not to claim the group knew about the killing, took part, or covered it up. She read from it on her show and refused. “I would like to know truthfully what took place on September 10th,” she said.

The Movement Now Has a Widow and a Rival Inquiry

A year on, the split is personal. Charlie Kirk’s mother, Kathryn Kirk, said the family was “100 percent behind” Erika’s appointment and denied rumors of a fight over the will. Vice President JD Vance said attacks that implied Erika or staff were “somehow involved” in the death enraged him. Lara Trump, in July 2026, went further.

“I don’t think there’s any room for any of this nonsense about Egyptian planes, Israel, Erika Kirk,” Lara Trump said. “You’re disgusting. You’re disgraceful. You should be ashamed of yourself. It’s enough.”

Some of Owens’s audience heard those defenses as a loyalty test Erika failed. Replies to Lara Trump’s clip treated any shutdown of the plane talk as a betrayal of Charlie Kirk, not as a widow asking to stop being named as a surveillance target. That is the cost of the recast. The court file still runs at Tyler Robinson. The online file runs at the woman who inherited the microphone.

Megyn Kelly has argued she should step aside to heal after a year of what Kelly called a nonstop battering ram. The Oct. 23, 2026 conference is where Graf may set a trial date. Owens’s spreadsheet is not on that docket.
