Ghostrunner Publisher Faces Layoffs After IP Acquisition by 505 Games

All In! Games, the Polish publisher behind the hit cyberpunk action game Ghostrunner, has announced that it is laying off some of its staff after losing the IP rights to the game. The company said that the decision was made due to the “changing market situation” and the “need to optimize costs and increase efficiency”.

The layoffs affect about 20% of the company’s workforce, mostly in the marketing and PR departments. The company said that it will provide support and assistance to the affected employees, and that it will continue to work on its other projects, such as Paradise Lost, Alaloth: Champions of the Four Kingdoms, and Tools Up!

All In! Games was founded in 2018 and has published several indie games, including Metamorphosis, Fort Triumph, and Red Wings: Aces of the Sky. The company’s biggest success was Ghostrunner, a fast-paced cyberpunk action platformer that was co-developed by One More Level and 3D Realms. The game was released in October 2020 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and received positive reviews from critics and players.

The company also said that it had “ambitious plans” for the future of the franchise, including a next-gen version of the game for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, and a sequel, Ghostrunner 2, which was announced in May 2021.

505 Games is an Italian publisher that has been active since 2006. The company has published several popular games, such as Control, Death Stranding, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, and Assetto Corsa.
