Epic Games Store Users Will Have to Wait Longer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Rocksteady Studios, the developers behind the acclaimed Batman: Arkham series, have announced that their upcoming game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, will be delayed by a month for the Epic Games Store users. The game, which was originally scheduled to release on February 2, 2024, will now launch on March 2, 2024, for the PC platform. The reason for the delay is not clear, but the studio said that it is working hard to deliver the best game possible.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a co-op action shooter that features four playable characters: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark. The game is set in the same universe as the Batman: Arkham games, and follows the misfit villains as they are tasked by Amanda Waller to kill the corrupted Justice League, who have been taken over by Brainiac. The game will feature an open-world Metropolis that can be explored and destroyed by the players, as well as a variety of weapons, gadgets, and abilities to use against the enemies.

The game has faced multiple delays and leaks

This is not the first time that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been pushed back. The game was originally announced in 2020, with a planned release date of 2022. However, in March 2022, the studio confirmed that the game was delayed to Spring 2023, citing the challenges of developing a game during the COVID-19 pandemic. In April 2023, the game was further delayed to May 26, 2023, and then to February 2, 2024, without any explanation.

The game has also suffered from several leaks, which have revealed some of the game’s story and characters ahead of time. In November 2023, a closed alpha test of the game was reportedly hacked, and some of the game’s files were uploaded online. The leaked files included screenshots, videos, audio files, and scripts, which showed some of the game’s missions, locations, enemies, and dialogue. The leaks also revealed some of the game’s surprises, such as the appearance of Batman, Wonder Woman, and other DC heroes and villains.

The game will still launch on other platforms as planned

Despite the delay for the Epic Games Store version, the game will still release on other platforms as planned. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on February 2, 2024. The game will also support cross-play and cross-progression across all platforms, meaning that players can team up and switch devices without losing their progress.

The game will also receive post-launch support, with free new playable villains, environments, weapons, in-game events, and more. The game will also have a battle pass system, which will offer additional rewards and challenges for the players. The game’s Digital Deluxe Edition will include the Justice League Outfits for the Squad, 3 Notorious Weapons, 4 Weapon Dolls, 1 Battle Pass Token, and 4 Color Swatches. The game’s pre-order bonus will include Classic Outfits and 72 Hour Early Launch Access.
