Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is the upcoming fourth installment of the popular fantasy role-playing game series Dragon Age, developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. The game was first announced in 2018 with a teaser trailer that revealed the title character, Solas the Dread Wolf, a mysterious elven mage who has a pivotal role in the previous game, Dragon Age: Inquisition. Since then, BioWare has released more information about the game, including its setting, plot, and some of the new characters that players will encounter.
The game will be set in the Tevinter Imperium, a powerful and ancient nation in the northern part of the continent of Thedas, where the Dragon Age series takes place. Tevinter is known for its rich culture, history, and magic, but also for its corruption, oppression, and conflicts with other factions, such as the Qunari, a race of horned warriors who follow a strict religious code. Tevinter has been mentioned and explored in previous games, but this will be the first time that players will be able to visit and explore it in depth.
What will the game be about?
The game will continue the story of Solas, who is revealed to be the Dread Wolf, an ancient elven god who was responsible for creating the Veil, a barrier that separates the physical world from the Fade, a realm of dreams and magic. Solas plans to tear down the Veil and restore the world to its original state, which he believes will benefit the elves, but will also unleash chaos and destruction on the rest of Thedas. The player will have to face Solas and his followers, as well as other threats and challenges, while also forming alliances and relationships with other characters.
Who are the new characters?
BioWare has introduced some of the new characters that will join the player’s party or interact with them in the game. Some of them are:

- Bellara, an elven mage who is a former Circle of Magi apprentice and a rebel against the oppressive Tevinter magocracy. She is adept in elemental and spirit magic, and has a compassionate and idealistic outlook.
- Dorian, a human mage who returns from Dragon Age: Inquisition, where he was a party member and a potential romance option. He is a Tevinter noble who opposes the corruption and abuses of his homeland, and is an expert in necromancy and temporal magic. He is also charming, flamboyant, and humorous.
- Maevaris, a human mage who is a Tevinter senator and a friend of Dorian. She is a transgender woman who is a progressive and influential voice in Tevinter politics, and is skilled in blood magic and enchantment. She is also elegant, intelligent, and courageous.

- The game will have a heist theme, where the player and their companions will plan and execute various missions, such as infiltrating, stealing, sabotaging, or assassinating. The game will also feature a spy network, where the player can recruit and manage agents, and use them to gather information, resources, and allies.
- The game will have a branching narrative, where the player’s choices and actions will have consequences and impact the world and the characters. The game will also have multiple endings, depending on the player’s decisions and relationships.
