Mercedes-Benz, the German luxury carmaker, has launched a new collection of fragrances for men, inspired by its iconic three-pointed star logo. The collection, named Land, Sea and Air, features three distinct scents that capture the essence of each element and the brand’s vision of excellence.
Land: A Warm and Woody Fragrance
The Land fragrance is designed to evoke the feeling of driving a Mercedes-Benz on a scenic road, surrounded by nature. The scent is composed of cocoa shell, tonka bean and patchouli, creating a warm and woody aroma that is both elegant and masculine. The fragrance is meant to reflect the power and performance of Mercedes-Benz vehicles on land.
Sea: A Fresh and Aquatic Fragrance
The Sea fragrance is inspired by the adventure and freedom of sailing on the ocean. The scent combines violet leaf, tangerine and seaweed, creating a fresh and aquatic aroma that is both refreshing and invigorating. The fragrance is meant to reflect the innovation and sustainability of Mercedes-Benz vehicles on water.
Air: A Light and Citrusy Fragrance
The Air fragrance is influenced by the thrill and excitement of flying in the sky. The scent blends armoise oil, citrus notes and turmeric leaf, creating a light and citrusy aroma that is both uplifting and energizing. The fragrance is meant to reflect the elegance and sophistication of Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the air.
A Unique and Sustainable Collection
The trio of fragrances was created by IFF master perfumer Anne Flipo, who received the 2023 Fragrance Foundation Lifetime Achievement Perfumer award. Flipo said that one of the innovations of this collection was the concept of layering, as the three fragrances can be worn together or separately, forming a coherent whole.
The collection also marks the first time that Mercedes-Benz uses recycled glass bottles with aluminum caps for its fragrances. The outer packaging is made of algae-derived biodegradable paper, showing the brand’s commitment to environmental responsibility. The collection is an elevated play that fills a gap for rising consumer consciousness about sustainability and fragrance, according to Crystal Wood, chief marketing officer and chief operating officer of distribution group The PCA Group of Companies.
The collection is now available at Dillard’s for $115 USD per bottle, and will roll out to Belk later this year. Globally, the collection is expected to enter more than 12,000 doors and generate 25 million euros in retail sales in its first year. The collection is expected to appeal to men who appreciate quality, luxury and style.
