Seth Rollins, the current World Heavyweight Champion in WWE, has made a shocking revelation about his health and career. In an interview on RAW, Rollins confirmed that he has two fractures in his lumbar spine and does not know how long he can continue wrestling at a high level.
Rollins’ injury dates back to 2019
Rollins revealed that he has been living with the back injury for over four years and that it has only gotten worse over time. He said that he does not know what the endgame is for his wrestling career and that he has to face the reality of his condition.
“If we’re being completely open here, I do have two fractures in my lumbar spine. I have been living with that injury for over four years and it doesn’t get better by itself. As a matter of fact, it gets worse. The truth is, I don’t really know what the endgame is, I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be able to do this at the level I’m currently running at. You know what? That’s part of the gig,” he said.
Rollins responds to Nakamura’s personal attack
Rollins’ injury was exposed by his rival Shinsuke Nakamura, who is set to challenge him for the World Heavyweight Championship at Payback 2023. Nakamura whispered something in Rollins’ ear last week, leaving him stunned before attacking him. On RAW this week, Nakamura revealed that he knows about Rollins’ back injury and mocked him for being unable to pick up his daughter or hug his wife (Becky Lynch).
Rollins did not appreciate Nakamura’s comments and said that it was part of the gig for Nakamura to get personal with him. However, he vowed to defeat Nakamura at Payback and prove that he is still the best in the world.
“Nakamura thinks he’s got me figured out, he thinks he’s got an advantage over me. He thinks he can get under my skin by bringing up my family, by bringing up my injury. Well, guess what? He’s wrong. He’s wrong about everything. He’s wrong about me, he’s wrong about himself, and he’s wrong about what’s going to happen at Payback. Because at Payback, I’m going to show him why I’m the World Heavyweight Champion, why I’m the Visionary of WWE, and why I’m still the man around here.”
Rollins’ future in WWE remains uncertain
Despite his defiant words, Rollins’ future in WWE remains uncertain as his back injury could potentially end his career sooner than expected. Rollins has been one of the top stars in WWE for the past decade, winning multiple championships and main-eventing several WrestleManias. He is also a fan favorite and a leader in the locker room.
However, his injury could limit his ability to perform at a high level and put his health at risk. Rollins has not indicated any plans to retire or take a break from wrestling, but he may have to consider his options if his condition worsens. Fans are hoping that Rollins can overcome his injury and continue to entertain them for many more years.
