Satechi, a popular maker of Apple accessories, has announced the release of its iPhone Wallet Stand, a versatile and stylish product that combines the functions of a wallet and a stand for any MagSafe-compatible iPhone. The iPhone Wallet Stand is made from vegan leather and features a double-flap design that allows users to carry up to four cards and use the wallet as a stand in portrait or landscape modes. The wallet also supports NFC pass-through, so users can tap to pay without taking out their cards.
A wallet and a stand in one
The iPhone Wallet Stand is Satechi’s first-ever product of its kind, and it was previewed during IFA 2023, a trade show for consumer electronics. The wallet attaches to the back of any iPhone 12, 13, or 15 model, or any MagSafe-compatible case, using strong magnets. The wallet is crafted from premium, scratch-resistant polyurethane leather, which Satechi says is not only durable and stylish, but also environmentally-conscious.
The wallet has a functional double-flap design that lets users store up to four cards at once, with a cutout specifically made to show an ID. This is ideal for errands and light travel, as users can carry everything they need in one device. Satechi says that users can even carry money on the go if they need it.
The double-flap design also enables the wallet to be used as a stand for the iPhone, in both portrait and landscape modes. This is useful for watching videos, browsing the web, or using iOS 17’s new StandBy Mode function after putting the iPhone to charge. The wallet can be easily folded back when not in use as a stand.
NFC pass-through and availability
One of the unique features of the iPhone Wallet Stand is that it allows for NFC pass-through from the front pocket. This means that users can easily tap to pay with their iPhone without taking out their credit or debit cards from the wallet. This adds convenience and security to the payment process.
Satechi’s Vegan-Leather Magnetic Wallet Stand is available in Black, Brown, Navy, Blue, and Orange on the company’s website for $39.99 and exclusively available in the Apple Store and Apple.com in Forest Green, Purple, and Blue for $39.95. The company says that new accessories are coming later, specifically for the iPhone 15 series, including long-awaited Qi2 chargers and stands.
The iPhone Wallet Stand is one of the many options for iPhone users who want to combine their phone and wallet in one product. Other alternatives include Apple’s MagSafe Leather Wallet, which has Find My support but can only store three cards and has to be removed to access them; Mujjo’s Leather Magnetic Wallet, which has easy access for cards but no Find My support; Moft’s Flash MagSafe Wallet, which has a built-in stand and RFID protection but is bulkier than other wallets; and jimmyCase’s Flexible iPhone Wallet, which can store six cards plus cash but is not MagSafe-compatible.
