Samsung is reportedly working on a new smartphone that will offer some of the features of its flagship Galaxy S23 series at a lower price. The device, dubbed as the Galaxy S23 FE (Fan Edition), is expected to launch in September, according to a reliable source. Here are some of the key specifications and features of the upcoming Galaxy S23 FE.
A bigger and smoother display
The Galaxy S23 FE will sport a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is slightly bigger than the Galaxy S23’s 6.1-inch screen. The display will also support HDR10+ and have an in-screen fingerprint scanner. Samsung may compromise on the build quality and use a plastic back panel instead of glass to keep the cost low.

A powerful processor and a long-lasting battery
The Galaxy S23 FE will be powered by either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or the Exynos 2200 chipset, depending on the region. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is the latest flagship processor from Qualcomm, while the Exynos 2200 is Samsung’s own chipset that will feature AMD graphics. Both processors are expected to offer excellent performance and efficiency.
The Galaxy S23 FE will also pack a 4,500 mAh battery that will support 25W wired fast charging and wireless charging. The battery capacity is the same as the Galaxy S23 and S23+, which means the Galaxy S23 FE should offer a decent battery life. The device will also run on Android 13 with One UI 5.1 on top, and will receive four years of Android OS updates and an extra year of security patches.
A versatile camera system and other features
The Galaxy S23 FE will feature a triple rear camera setup that will consist of a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera. The primary camera will be an upgrade from the Galaxy S23’s 40-megapixel sensor, while the other two cameras will be similar. The front-facing camera will be a 10-megapixel shooter.
The Galaxy S23 FE will also have some other features that are common in Samsung’s flagship phones, such as stereo speakers, IP68 water and dust resistance, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6E, and reverse wireless charging. The device will also support Samsung DeX, which allows users to connect their phone to a monitor or TV and use it as a desktop.
A competitive price and availability
The Galaxy S23 FE is expected to launch in September, which is around six months after the launch of the Galaxy S23 series. The exact price and availability details are not known yet, but it is likely that the Galaxy S23 FE will be cheaper than the Galaxy S23, which starts at Rs 74,999 in India. The Galaxy S23 FE may also come in different color options, such as white, black, green, blue, and purple.
The Galaxy S23 FE is Samsung’s attempt to offer a more affordable option for fans who want some of the features of its flagship series without breaking the bank. The device will compete with other premium mid-range phones in the market, such as the OnePlus 10T, Xiaomi Mi 12T, and Vivo X70 Pro.
