Nubia, the Chinese smartphone maker, has announced that it will unveil its latest flagship gaming phone, the Red Magic 9 Pro, on November 23 in China. The phone is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, the industry’s first 3D ice-level VC heat dissipation system, and a notch-less display with a hidden under-display camera.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3: The most powerful chipset for Android phones
The Red Magic 9 Pro will be one of the first phones to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is the latest and most powerful processor from Qualcomm. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is based on a 4nm process and has a Kryo 780 CPU with a peak frequency of 3.09 GHz, an Adreno 730 GPU, and a Hexagon 770 AI engine. The chipset also supports Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and 5G connectivity.
According to a Geekbench listing, the Red Magic 9 Pro will have a 12 GB RAM option, but it is likely to have more powerful options, such as 16 GB or even 24 GB. The phone scored 5,977 points in the multi-core test, which is 20% more than the results of the current second-gen Qualcomm chipset.
3D ice-level VC heat dissipation: The ultimate cooling solution for gaming
The Red Magic 9 Pro will also feature a new ICE magic cooling system, which is the industry’s first 3D ice-level VC heat dissipation system. This system is expected to significantly improve heat dissipation efficiency compared to traditional single-chip VC and dual-chip VC systems.
The ICE magic cooling system will use a combination of liquid cooling, air cooling, and graphene to achieve a three-dimensional heat dissipation effect. The system will also have a built-in cooling fan that can adjust the speed according to the temperature of the phone. The Red Magic 9 Pro will be able to maintain a stable and high performance even during long gaming sessions.
Notch-less display with under-display camera: The best screen-to-body ratio for immersive gaming
The Red Magic 9 Pro will also boast a notch-less display with a hidden under-display camera, similar to the Red Magic 8 Pro. The phone will use a combination of “ultra-high-transparency screens, miniature high-transparency pixels, and streamer high-transparency circuits” to enhance the light transmittance of the under-display camera region.
This innovative approach is said to deliver lifelike camera performance and avoid any visible shadows or dark patches around the under-display camera. The phone will also have a high refresh rate and a touch sampling rate to ensure a smooth and responsive gaming experience.
The Red Magic 9 Pro will be the latest addition to the Red Magic series, which is known for its gaming-oriented features and design. The phone will compete with other gaming phones such as the Asus ROG Phone 6, the Black Shark 5, and the Lenovo Legion 3 Pro. The phone will be launched on November 23 in China, and the global availability and pricing are yet to be announced.
