The Jordan Spizike Low is a new low-top silhouette that combines elements of various Air Jordan models. The shoe is set to debut in 2024 with a special colorway that pays homage to the Chinese New Year.
The Jordan Spizike Low is inspired by the Jordan Spizike, a hybrid model that was created by Spike Lee and Jordan Brand in 2006. The Spizike features design cues from the Air Jordan III, IV, V, VI, and XX. The low-top version retains some of the signature elements of the original, such as the elephant print overlays, the lace toggle, the heel tab, and the tongue tag. However, the Spizike Low also introduces some new features, such as a perforated toe box, a stitched Swoosh, and a sleeker profile.
A Tribute to the Year of the Tiger
The Jordan Spizike Low “Chinese New Year” is a festive colorway that celebrates the upcoming Year of the Tiger in the Chinese lunar calendar. The shoe features a red leather upper with black accents on the eyelets, laces, tongue, and midsole. The heel and toe are adorned with gold elephant print, while the outsole is translucent with a tiger stripe pattern underneath. The lace toggle and the tongue tag are also gold, and they feature the Chinese character for “tiger” and the Jumpman logo, respectively. The insoles are printed with a graphic of a tiger and the words “Happy New Year” in Chinese.
A Limited Release for Spring 2024
The Jordan Spizike Low “Chinese New Year” is expected to release in Spring 2024, coinciding with the start of the lunar new year on February 1. The shoe will be available at select retailers and online at Nike for $160 USD. The shoe is likely to be a limited edition, as previous Jordan Brand releases for the Chinese New Year have been. The shoe is also a part of a larger collection of Nike products that celebrate the Year of the Tiger, including apparel and accessories.
