Dunkin’, the popular coffee and doughnut chain, is preparing to launch a new line of products that will appeal to adult iced coffee and tea lovers. The company is collaborating with Harpoon Brewery, a Boston-based brewery, to produce a collection of spiked iced coffee and iced tea drinks under the name Dunkin’ Spiked. The products are expected to hit the shelves soon, but the official launch date has not been announced yet.
Dunkin’ and Harpoon Brewery have previously partnered on a series of beers that incorporated coffee flavors, such as Dunkin’ Pumpkin, Maple Crème Blonde Ale, Midnight American Porter, and Blueberry Matcha IPA. The new products will be malt-based alcoholic beverages that will feature Dunkin’s signature iced coffee and tea flavors.
What are the flavors and alcohol content of Dunkin’ Spiked?
According to a new website that showcases the Dunkin’ Spiked brand, there will be four flavors of hard iced coffee and four flavors of hard iced tea available in variety packs. The hard iced coffee flavors are Original, Caramel, Mocha, and Vanilla. The hard iced tea flavors are Slightly Sweet, Half Tea and Half Lemonade, Strawberry Dragonfruit, and Mango Pineapple.
The hard coffees will have 6% alcohol by volume (ABV), while the hard teas will have 5% ABV. The website also indicates that the Original Iced Coffee and Slightly Sweet Iced Tea will be sold in 4-packs of 12-ounce cans, as well as single 19.2 ounce cans.
How did the internet react to Dunkin’ Spiked?
The news of Dunkin’ Spiked spread quickly on social media platforms, where users expressed their excitement and curiosity about the upcoming products. Some users joked about the potential effects of mixing caffeine and alcohol, while others praised the innovation and creativity of Dunkin’ and Harpoon Brewery.
One user tweeted: “The Commonwealth of Massachusetts will not survive this.” Another user commented: “Dunkin’ Spiked is the best thing to happen in 2023.” Some users also shared memes and gifs featuring Dunkin’ Spiked products and slogans.
However, not everyone was enthusiastic about the idea of spiked iced coffee and tea. Some users expressed their concern about the health risks and ethical issues of promoting alcohol consumption. One user wrote: “Dunkin’ Spiked is a terrible idea. Alcohol is addictive and harmful. Why would you ruin a perfectly good coffee or tea with booze?” Another user said: “Dunkin’ Spiked is irresponsible and unethical. They are targeting young people who are already addicted to caffeine and sugar. This is not cool or fun.”
