Nothing’s CMF smartwatch may not run on Wear OS, leak suggests

Nothing, the startup founded by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, announced a new sub-brand called CMF by Nothing earlier this month. The sub-brand is said to launch a smartwatch and earbuds later this year, along with a fast charger. A new leak has revealed some details about these products, including their design, specs, prices, and launch date in India.

According to a leak shared by TechLeaksZone on X, CMF by Nothing is planning to launch three products in India on September 26th. These products are the Watch Pro, the Buds Pro, and the 65W GAN fast charger. The leak also claims that these products will be priced at Rs 4,500, Rs 3,500, and Rs 3,000 respectively, which translates to about $55, $43, and $37 in US dollars.

Watch Pro: A square-shaped smartwatch with an AMOLED display

The leak reveals that the Watch Pro will feature a 1.96-inch AMOLED display with always-on display (AOD) support, 600 nits of brightness, a 50Hz refresh rate, and 100+ watch faces. The smartwatch will have an aluminum alloy case and an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. It will also have a heart rate monitor, a blood oxygen sensor, sleep tracking, stress monitor, breathing exercises, and over 100 sports modes.

One of the most interesting aspects of the Watch Pro is that it will not run on Google’s Wear OS platform, which suggests that CMF by Nothing will use its own custom operating system for the smartwatch. The leak also says that the Watch Pro will have Bluetooth calling support with AI noise reduction and a 330mAh battery that can last up to 13 days with AOD turned off.

The Watch Pro will have a square-shaped design with rounded edges and a bright orange band. The band does not seem to have any visible lugs, which could mean that it is not removable. The watch face also has a Nothing-like logo and a button on the right edge.

Buds Pro: Wireless earbuds with active noise cancellation and ultra bass

The Buds Pro are wireless earbuds that will offer active noise cancellation (ANC), 11 hours of non-stop playback, and ultra bass technology. The earbuds will come in a bright orange color that matches the Watch Pro’s band. The charging case will also have the same color and a circular shape.

The Buds Pro have a different design than the peanut-shaped earbuds that leaked earlier this year. These earbuds have a more conventional shape with silicone tips and stems. The stems also have microphones for ANC and voice calls.

65W GAN fast charger: A compact and powerful USB-C charger

The third product that CMF by Nothing will launch is a 65W GAN fast charger. This is a USB-C charger that uses gallium nitride (GAN) technology to deliver high power output in a compact size. The charger will have three ports: one USB-C port and two USB-A ports. It will also have a foldable plug for easy portability.

The charger will be able to charge multiple devices at once with fast charging speeds. It will also have overcurrent protection, overvoltage protection, overtemperature protection, and short circuit protection. The charger will have a white color with an orange accent on the USB-C port.
