Collabstore is a multi-label fashion retail space that showcases the works of various local and international designers in Kuala Lumpur. Founded by Richard Tsen, a fashion entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience, Collabstore aims to provide a platform for emerging designers to gain exposure and recognition in the competitive fashion industry.
Collabstore features a range of merchandise from womenwear, menswear, streetwear, footwear, accessories, and homeware. Some of the brands and designers available at Collabstore include Angelique, Andy Sulaiman, Bill Keith, Bleu Natar, Binary Style, Black by Blue Brave, Sangon, and Richard’s own footwear label, Projet1826.
According to Richard, Collabstore is a brand that carries and sells the works of various designers in small batches of production. He said, “I really wanted this place to be a place where new products are. I want to wow the public with how amazing our local products can be, [and showcase them] in a luxurious setting.”
Collabstore is located on the second floor of Shoppes at Four Seasons Place, a prestigious shopping mall in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The store has a spacious and elegant layout, with each label having its own corner and display. The store also has a lounge area where customers can relax and enjoy the view of the city skyline.
A Platform for Events and Workshops
Besides being a one-stop shopping destination for contemporary high street fashion, Collabstore also plans to organise events and workshops related to design and art. Richard shared that he wants to create a community of like-minded people who appreciate and support local and international talents.
Some of the events and workshops that Collabstore has hosted or will host include:
- Fashion trunk shows, where designers can showcase their latest collections and interact with customers and media.
- Short film screenings, where filmmakers can present their works and share their insights and inspirations.
- Product demonstrations, where artisans can demonstrate their skills and techniques and explain their creative processes.
- Busking/DJ spin, where musicians can perform live and entertain the crowd.
- Fashion exhibitions, where artists can display their artworks and collaborate with designers.
A Vision for the Future of Fashion
